All members are encouraged to have an orientation to the wellness center. This orientation is free for members and will:
- Take you through the available cardio and strength training equipment
- Show you how to use it all safely and effectively
- Help you find your personal settings on a machine
- Answer your general wellness and fitness questions
Please schedule your orientation with the Member Service Desk to ensure a Wellness Center Coach is available.
Physical fitness can be measured, improved and guided to an enhanced feeling of well-being, leading you to a better life. For members looking to track their health and well-being progress, consider baseline and follow-up fitness assesments. YMCA staff can perform an evaluation that will provide you with current fitness levels that can establish a starting point and or identfying training needs. Follow-up assessments can evaluate the success of the proram in achieving your objectives.

The Y is committed to not only having programs that strengthen adults, but also for kids and families. Below are some programs and classes that help Youth become more active and healthier.
Youth Fitness Orientation is designed to prepare 12-14 year olds in the proper way to use the Wellness Center. The orientation teaches youth about basic anatomy and physiology, the importance of all segments of working out (warm-up, stretching, cardiovascular and strength training and cool down), how to use the Wellness Center equipment, other ideas for working out and sets them up for a work-out program to begin with.
In order for the child to visit the Wellness Center by him or herself, they must pass the youth orientation and demonstrate a proficiency in the use of all equipment.
GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
Y group fitness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in Y programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities. The Y has land and water based classes for people of all ages, abilities and interests. Consider becoming a part of the Y’s “Group X” family!
Below you will find a list of the group exercise classes offered at the YMCA along with a link at the bottom to the current class schedule.
Boot Camp: This class combines cardio with interval training while building strength through the use of weights. A triple-threat class that targets the entire body and will leave you energized for the rest of the day!
Turbo Kick: Non-contact martial arts based fitness class combining upper and lower body strengthening through combinations of punches and kicks along with resistance training. May also include some extra new surprise exercises!
ZUMBA®: A fusion of Latin and international music themes that create a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness workout. A combination of fast and slow rhythms tone and sculpt the body and burn calories the fun way!
ZUMBA Gold®: is for the active older adult, but all are welcome!
Power Combo: This class will involve intervals of stepping, strength, agility and kickboxing. The main focus is to enhance your cardiovascular system with cross-training intervals to work your entire body.
Yoga: This class is a relaxing program that uses slow stretching and strengthening of the body to improve posture and focus the mind.
Yoga Stretch: Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Abs: This class is an intense non-stop class using basic and advanced exercises that specifically targets the abdominal muscles and lower back.
Boot Camp: Exercise designed to focus on both muscles and bones. Classes may include toning, firming and flexibility, performed with or without weights/resistance, for the purpose of improving muscular strength and endurance.
Silver Sneakers®: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
