FES BIKE PROGRAM

The FES Bike program consists of 2 different functional electrical bikes for participants to use. This program is for individuals with SCI or neurological disease. These bikes use electrodes on major muscles of the legs to help individuals exercise on a bike.
A doctor’s approval and script is required as there are some contraindications to use.
Our RT 300 Bike Program was made possible by donations and grants received from the Ricky Palermo Spinal Injury Golf Tournament and the Quality of Life Grant funded by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
Eligibility for the FES Bike Programs:
- All participants need a doctor’s script allowing you to participate in physical activities
- Participants must be a member of the Genesee County YMCA
- Healthy Heart participants must have recently participated in a phase II cardiac rehab program
