WYOMING COUNTY SPORTS

Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins.

Youth Sports

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Youth Wellness

The Y is committed to not only having programs that strengthen adults, but also for kids and families. Below are some programs and classes that help youth become more active and healthier.

Youth Fitness

Youth Fitness Orientation is designed to prepare 12-14 year olds in the proper way to use the Wellness Center. The orientation teaches youth about basic anatomy and physiology, the importance of all segments of working out (warm-up, stretching, cardiovascular and strength training, and cool down), and how to use the Wellness Center equipment.

In order for the child to visit the Wellness Center by themselves, they must pass the youth orientation and demonstrate a proficiency in the use of all equipment.

Karate

This is for ages 9 to adult. Interested participants under 9 can speak with the instructor.

Archery

This is for ages 5 to adult.
